Interview given to Deccan Herald newspaper
1. Qualification details/age/what u wanted to be in life
Ba/bsc from NDA, Masters in Computer Management from symbiosis. UGC NET Lectureship in computer applications. Ever since my childhood I only dreamt of some purposeful, respected work along with adventure, sports and discovering nature and wildlife. I thought Army would give me all this and therefore I wanted to join the army.
2.How did this change? (For example - as we grow older what we want from life changes. things we found important then are not so important now )
I don’t think much has changed now except music. I discovered music late in my life but thankfully I did and I am pursuing it passionately now. Had I remained in the army I would have defended the country and our society and whatever it stands for. I would have been a soldier. Today also I am a soldier for social causes. I am working for welfare of street children and village children. These children are the future and it is very satisfying, being able to give them a hope of a better future. I still love doing everything I used to.
3. What do you do now and how satisfying is it?
Answered above
4. Details of the things you have tried in life and what satisfied you he most. (Ex - I wait for the kids to scramble in at 11 am, greet them with a big smile, where else will I get so much love and affection etc)
Everything. Living has always been such a pleasure. When you think nothing can make you sad, things happen which make you cry. When you think nothing can make you happy things happen which make you laugh and cheer with joyous tears in your eyes. Being able to do what I want to comes at a cost but it is the most satisfying to be working in the field I am working in i.e social welfare and also following all the hobbies of nature, travelling, meeting people, studying languages and cultures and music.
5. How important is money to you? What would you do/not do for it. (Ex- I would never do a boring 9-5 job)
Trying to give the underpriviliged children a better future, money and all types of man and material resources carry a huge significance and I am willing to do everything for it. Even if I have to sit by the roadside and play my mouthorgan and sing to get resources for them, I will.
6. What do you plan to do later in life?
I want to learn music for 10 years. Then play chess for 20yrs and see if I can become a grandmaster. I want to write books on my life, philosophy, religion and science. I want to be 98 one day.
7. What mistake do people usually make all their lives according to you.
Living and behaving according to other people’s expectations.
8. How important is it for you to do something that you want to do?
